Ever get to experience flight in a small aircraft? Well, here’s your chance to while taking an amazing trip 1,000 feet over the RPI campus. The RPI Fly-By is an awesome opportunity THIS WEEKEND for any RPI student interested in seeing what it’s like to fly in a small plane or who is simply interested in seeing what RPI looks like from the air. The flight plan even includes a scenic aerial tour of downtown Albany. The trip is also a great experience for Aeronautical Engineers who want to see how the material they are learning plays itself out in the real world. On behalf of rpistudygroup.com, we hope you all had a great semester of classes. Now finals are the only thing separating you and summer (at least for those of you who have to take them). Look for final review materials on the site and end the semester on a great note.

Fire on Freshman Hill.

At approximately 5:30am on Wednesday, April 23rd, a fire was started on freshman hill. A resident of Hall Hall, known only as “Craig,” had the genius idea to set the earth week cardboard display ablaze. He first took the lid off the display, poured kerosene on the cardboard, and lit the then extremely flammable display. He quickly replaced the lid, which proved to be a horrible mistake. Seconds later, the lid was blown off, creating an explosion that woke many students in the surrounding dorms. The resulting fireball also gave the arsonist 3rd degree burns and sent him to Samaritan hospital. He was later air-lifted to Westchester Medical Center to be treated at their Trauma and Burn Center. Though the semester is coming to a close and will eventually end, rpistudygroup.com has no such plans.
